Exterior pressure washing services by Rittenworx
Pressure & Soft Washing

Pressure Washing

House siding, driveways, decks, fences, and shingle-safe roof washing — matched to the right pressure for each surface.

Not Every Surface Should Get the Same Pressure

Concrete can take a lot of pressure. Vinyl siding, painted wood, and asphalt shingles can't — blast those at full force and you'll strip paint, crack siding, or knock the protective granules off your roof. Roy matches the pressure and method to the surface: higher PSI for driveways and patios, a gentler soft-wash for siding, decks, and roofs.

Rittenworx handles exterior washing across Madison, Huntsville, Decatur, and Athens, and it pairs naturally with our deck, fence, and exterior painting work as a prep step.

What We Wash

Surfaces We Clean

House Siding

Vinyl, brick, and Hardie board washed with a soft-wash approach — low pressure plus the right cleaner, so nothing gets damaged.

  • Removes mold, mildew & pollen film
  • Low-pressure, chemical-assisted wash
  • Safe for vinyl and painted surfaces
  • Brightens siding without stripping paint

Best for: Vinyl, Hardie board, brick, and painted exteriors

Driveways & Walkways

Higher-pressure cleaning for concrete and pavers to lift oil stains, tire marks, and years of built-up grime.

  • Strips ground-in dirt and algae
  • Removes oil and rust staining
  • Restores original concrete color
  • Prepares surface for sealing

Best for: Concrete, pavers, and asphalt surfaces

Decks & Fences

The right prep step before staining or sealing — strips old finish and gray, weathered wood back to a clean surface.

  • Removes mildew and algae buildup
  • Strips failing old stain
  • Opens wood grain for new sealant
  • Pairs with our staining service

Best for: Wood decks and fences before refinishing

Roof Soft Washing

Shingle roofs should never see full pressure — we use a low-pressure soft wash to kill algae streaks without damaging shingles.

  • Low-pressure, shingle-safe method
  • Removes black algae streaking
  • No granule loss from high pressure
  • Improves curb appeal and roof life

Best for: Asphalt shingle roofs with algae streaking

Our Process

How We Wash Your Property

1

Walk the Property

Roy looks at every surface you want cleaned and flags anything that needs a gentler approach.

2

Right Pressure, Right Surface

Concrete gets more pressure than siding or a roof — matching PSI to the material is what keeps you from damaging it.

3

Pre-Treat if Needed

Heavy mildew, algae, or oil stains get a cleaning solution applied first so the wash actually lifts it.

4

Wash & Rinse

Surfaces are washed section by section and rinsed clean, with care around plants, windows, and outlets.

5

Final Walkthrough

We walk the property with you to make sure every surface came out the way you expected.

Common Questions

Pressure Washing FAQs

What's the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?
Pressure washing uses higher PSI water alone to blast dirt off tough surfaces like concrete and pavers. Soft washing uses lower pressure combined with a cleaning solution to lift mold, algae, and mildew off more delicate surfaces like siding, painted wood, and roof shingles without damaging them. We use whichever is right for the surface, not just one setting for everything.
Is it safe to pressure wash my roof?
Not with high pressure. Standard pressure washing can strip the protective granules off asphalt shingles and shorten your roof's life. We only soft-wash roofs — low pressure plus a cleaning solution — to remove the black algae streaking without damaging the shingles.
How often should I have my house washed?
Once a year is typical for most North Alabama homes, given our humidity and pollen. Shaded, wooded lots that stay damp often need it more often to stay ahead of mold and mildew growth.
Will pressure washing damage my siding or paint?
Not when it's done at the right pressure. We soft-wash vinyl, Hardie board, and painted surfaces with lower pressure and a cleaning solution instead of blasting them at full force, which is what causes stripped paint or damaged siding.
Can you remove oil stains from my driveway?
Fresh to moderate oil staining usually lifts well with pre-treatment and higher-pressure washing on concrete. Old, deeply set stains may lighten significantly but not disappear completely — we'll give you an honest expectation before we start.
Do you also stain decks and fences after washing them?
Yes. Washing is the prep step — once the wood is clean and dry, we can apply stain or sealant as part of the same project. See our deck repair and fence services for details.
